Amritraj's doubles campaign ends

Prakash Amritraj's doubles campaign at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships ended after he and partner Giles Muller lost in the the quarter-finals in Newport.

Wild card entrants Amritraj-Muller went down 4-6, 2-6 against Rik de Voest of South Africa and Ashley Fisher of Australia.

The winners now take on Indo-Pak duo of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, who overcame a stiff challenge from Kevin Anderson and James Cerretani to storm into the semi-finals.

The fourth seeds registered a hardfought 7-6 (4), 3-6, 10-7 win against the South African-American duo in the quarter-finals.

Amritraj will now aim to stretch his singles campaign to the summit show of the event. He will lock horns against seventh seed Canadian Frank Dancevi in the semi-final.
