Two weightlifters from Uzbekistan tested positive for drugs and have been thrown out of the Asian Games, the Olympic Council of Asia announced on Sunday.

The first was named as Elmira Ramilevam, who was taking anabolic steroids, and the second Alexander Urinov, who tested positive to cannabis.

Ramileva, 16, finished fifth in the women's 69kg category, while Urinov, 33, finished seventh in the 105kg heavyweight category.

Urinov is an experienced weightlifter, who finished fifth at the last Asian Games in Busan and eighth at the Athens Olympics [Images].

He also took part in the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver, where he finished ninth.

It follows a positive dope test by Myanmar weightlifter Kyi Kyi Than, who was disqualified on Saturday.
