Long Jumper Anju Bobby George, who created history by becoming the first Indian to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships, returned to a rousing reception in Delhi on Monday night.
"I am very happy," a beaming Anju told ecstatic fans who thronged the airport to greet her.

Anju, who won a bronze medal at the World Championships in Paris last month, returned along with her husband and coach Robert George after participating in the World Athletics Final in Monaco on Sunday.
After a season's best performance of 6.70 metres, which gave her the bronze medal in Paris, the 25-year-old Anju placed fifth in the Monaco event, with a best jump of 6.50 metres.
"I went all out on my third jump but fouled it," Anju, clad in a dark blue suit, said about her below par performance at Monaco.
The Kerala athlete, who is an officer with the Chennai Customs, said she is capable of improving upon her bronze medal-winning performance and bagging a medal at next year's Athens Olympics.
"I only have to make some minor adjustments," she said.
Asked to name one person who helped Anju script the historic victory in Paris, her husband said: "It is not any single person. [Mike] Powell, her former coaches and me... we all helped her."
