Raja Bhaiyya meets on Mulayam, fuels speculation on re-induction

A day after the Central Bureau of Investigation gave a clean chit to independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya in Deputy Superintendent of Police Zia-ul-Haq's murder case, the former Uttar Pradesh minister met Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav fuelling speculations about his re-induction as minister in the government.

Raja Bhaiyya met Yadav at his residence on Friday morning and left within half-an-hour, sources said.

During the meeting, the former UP minister clarified his position before the SP chief, claiming that a conspiracy was hatched against him to defame the government, they said.

Raja Bhaiyya held prisons, food and civil supplies department as cabinet minister in UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's government before resigning after the DSP's murder.

When asked about the visit, party spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury said that Singh from the very beginning claimed to be innocent and the CBI report has corroborated it.

About chances of his re-induction as minister, Chowdhury said that party supremo will decide on it.
