India on Thursday said it has received no information from Spain on the identity of the terror suspects held in Barcelona last week.

"Spain has not released information on the identity of those arrested," External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna told reporters when asked about the reported detention of two Indians along with 12 Pakistanis in connection with a terror plot in the European country.

Sarna said the Indian Embassy in Madrid has been in touch with the Spanish authorities after reports of the arrests emerged on Saturday.

"Our mission was not given any concrete information," the spokesman said.

Officials said the two detained persons suspected to be Indians had been released, which explains the silence of the Spanish government.
