The Hyderabad police on Saturday said that Friday's blast at the Mecca Masjid was a planned terrorist attack and that the police have found some clues.

"It is a planned terrorist act, as you can see from the type of device used. It is a sophisticated device. We are looking into all possibilities," Police Commissioner Balwider Singh said.

"There are some clues and we are working on them," he said.

The situation in the city was very much under control and since Friday night there have been no incidents, he said, adding that there were enough forces to maintain law and order.
