Kalinga Nagar cop shoots self January 16, 2006 10:17 IST An assistant sub-inspector with the Kalinga Nagar police station in Orissa's Jajpur district, tried to commit suicide on Sunday night, official sources said. Narayan Charan Samal used his service revolver to shoot himself in the neck inside the police station and was rushed to the nearest hospital at Danagadi. He was later moved to S C B Medical college hospital at Cuttack, the sources said. The cause behind his taking the drastic step is yet to be ascertained. Twelve persons from a tribe were killed at Kalinga Nagar when police opened fire on January 12. Also see:
