The 1,64,492 colours sari!

December 07, 2006
This is no ordinary silk sari; it has not one or two, but 1,64,492 colours in it!

It is also on its way to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Dubbed Mayil Thogai (a peacock's feather) by none other than Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, the sari is the creation of Co-optex, the Tamil Nadu Handloom Wevaers' Coopertaive Society, in association with Sirumugaipudur Sri Ramalinga Sowdeswari Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society in Coimbatore.
