Diplomat's rape: Suspect remanded to judicial custody

A metropolitan magistrate on Monday remanded Navdeep Randhawa, arrested in connection with a shooting incident at the Swiss Airlines office in Delhi over two months ago and a suspect in the high-profile Swiss diplomat rape case, to judicial custody till December 1.

The 24-year-old youth had been in police custody since his arrest in Delhi on November 11.

Police are trying to ascertain whether Randhawa was involved in the rape case and claim to have found certain similarities between him and the description of the man who abducted and criminally assaulted the diplomat near Siri Fort Auditorium during the International Film Festival of India.
