PM's security breached again

January 30, 2003 15:11 IST

Security of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was breached on Thursday when a motorcycle entered his cavalcade near Nizamuddin in south Delhi.

The motorcycle rider drove past the security cordon and came close to hitting the escort vehicle, official sources said.

The rider, identified as Atul Tyagi, an employee of Hero Honda, was taken to Nizamuddin police station for questioning.

It was the third time in less than two weeks that the prime minister's security was breached.

A Maruti car had tried to overtake the prime minister's convoy at Rao Tula Ram Marg in Delhi on January 28.
