Violence in MP town after recovery of cow's head

A mob set fire around 30 shops in Ganj Basoda town, nearly 50km from Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday morning amidst reports that a cow's head was found from a house, police sources said.

The Indo-Asian News Services reported that around 25 people, including 10 policemen, were injured in the violence.

The situation is now under control and prohibitory orders under section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code have been clamped, the sources said.

Additional police personnel have been deployed and District Commissioner Satya Prakash has reached the area.

The person who allegedly killed the cow could not be traced, they added.
