Train engine rams into auto; nine killed

Nine people, including two children, were killed and two injured when a train engine rammed into an auto-rickshaw at an unmanned crossing in Mahbubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday.

South Central Railway spokesperson P Krishnaiah said that the mishap occurred due to the carelessness of the the auto driver.

The incident occurred at 1010 IST at the level crossing between Devarkadra and Kaukuntla.

The injured persons were admitted to a government hospital at Mahbubnagar.
