January 09, 2003 03:11 IST

The Congress will launch its election campaign for the November assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh on January 10 at a rally in Mandla district.

Congress bigwigs who are expected to kick off the election campaign include All India Congress Committee general secretary and state incharge Ambika Soni, former union minister Kamalnath along with Chief Minister Digvijay Singh.

The leaders would also visit Niwas, a tehsil headquarter of the tribal dominated district of Mandla, Congress sources said.

They will perform bhoomi pujan of the newly constructed Niwas-Maneri and Niwas-kundam roads built at a cost of Rs six crore.
