TADA charge against MP S S Mann

February 22, 2003 15:20 IST

A Delhi court on Saturday framed charges under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Prevention Act (TADA) against Lok Sabha MP Simranjit Singh Mann in connection with making an inflammatory speech at the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in April 1991.

During the course of the speech, Mann had demanded a separate nation for Sikhs.

Mann is a Shiromani Akali Dal (Mann) MP from Sangrur constituency in Punjab.

Holding that a prima facie case is made out against the accused, designated judge S N Dhingra framed charges under section 124(A) of the Indian Penal Code and section 4(2) of TADA against Mann.
