Over 2,000 temples and ghats on the banks of the Godavari, which flows through Nashik, have made the city one of the holiest places for Hindus.

Here, pilgrims offer prayers to a Shiva Lingam in the evening after the holy bath.

Trimbakeshwar, around 28 km from Nashik, is an added attraction for pilgrims. It is considered to be one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India and a trip to Nashik is not considered complete if one doesn't visit Trimbakeshwar.
