BJP not likely to withdraw
support to Mayawati

April 23, 2003 14:41 IST

The BJP on Wednesday ruled out withdrawing support to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati despite criticism by BJP leaders, especially former chief minister Rajnath Singh.

This was the outcome of a three-hour meeting party president M Venkaiah Naidu had with party general secretaries on Wednesday morning, party sources said in Delhi.

While BJP leaders from UP are to apprise Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani of their grievances on Wednesday, Mayawati is also expected to meet BJP central leaders in the near future.
