Musharraf welcomes Vajpayee's
offer of friendship

April 23, 2003 16:16 IST

In his first comment on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's fresh offer of friendship to Pakistan, President Pervez Musharraf has said he is glad to see 'positive indications' from India.

Speaking at a banquet in Islamabad on Tuesday night for visiting Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Musharraf expressed hope that these indications 'can be pursued to greater interacting process', according to state-run APP news agency.

Pakistan was prepared to engage in a comprehensive dialogue with India on Kashmir and other outstanding disputes.

He said Kashmir had been the main impediment to the development of normal relations between the two countries.
