New Zealander in Delhi hospital
may be a SARS case

April 19, 2003 09:59 IST

A New Zealand national, undergoing treatment in Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in New Delhi, may be suffering from SARS, Union Health Ministry sources told PTI on Saturday.

Though the patient has tested positive for SARS in preliminary tests, the hospital is now carrying out 'hundred per cent sequencing of his blood' to ascertain the genetic character of the virus for a final result.

The patient is recuperating fast and now shows no signs of fever, the sources said.
