Sharbani Mukherjee, who played Sunil Shetty's wife in Border, plays Karthi in Sufi Paranja Kadha.
Sharbani, who earlier starred in Priyadarshan's Malayalam movie Rakkilippaattu, says she is thrilled to play Karthi.
"I have always believed in the quality of my roles and though it has affected the number of films, I think it's worth waiting for roles like the one I am playing right now," she adds.
Thampy Antony, noted for his roles in films like Beyond The Soul, Palunku and Calcutta News, plays Sanku Menon. He is also the producer of the film.
He says that his character of Sanku mama is a "complex one with various phases being shown in the film."
His brother, actor Babu Antony, plays Sufi, the narrator of the story.
Debutant Prakash Bare, who was active in the theatre circuit during his stint as an entrepreneur in the US, plays Maamutty. Jagathy Sreekumar plays Avaru Musaliar, another strong character in the film.
