'We called SRK Papa Khan'

She is spunky, and has a brand new hairdo to match her personality!

Meet Anaitha, who played the fashionable Aliya in Chak De ! India. On August 28, Anaitha came to the rediff office and spent time chatting with our readers. For those who missed the chat, here's the transcript:

Anaitha says, Hello Aliya with you... I'm here for an hour... so shoot!!! questions that is...:)

harry asked, hey Anaitha u have play a very good part in that film
Anaitha answers, Thank you, that's kind of you. I haven't heard too much of that but I'm glad you liked it.

pinnu asked, WHAT IS YOU ZODIAC? RASHI....
Anaitha answers, I'm Cancerian, born on July 19th but i don't believe in Zodiac much. However, I believe in the cancerian traits. I fit the bill to a 'T'.

pratham asked, Hi Aliya! you were the sexiest girl among all.
Anaitha answers, Why Thank you!!!

mangal asked, Hi Aliya u did a superb job in the movie r u doing any other movie right?
Anaitha answers, Thank you. Yes I am. I just shot for Nagesh Kukunoor's next film, Aashayein starring John Abraham. Its a great film for me to be a part of. I play a terminally ill cancer patient Padma. It should be out early by next year.

fredy asked, How was your feeling to be part of this film ?
Anaitha answers, As all the girls might agree, it was exhilarating, truly. We learnt a lot, travelled a lot as well as played a lot. We enjoyed every part of the experience.

sudheer asked, hey ....i really like everything about this picture. i hope it is real story
Anaitha answers, Well Sudheer, it coincidentally was a true story. Our writer, Jaideep wrote the film after interacting extensively with Maharaja Kaushik, who was the coach of the Indian Women's team which won the Asian Games in '98. It eventually turned out to be the story of Mr Niranjan Negi, who played for the country for five years as a goalkeeper, and was assistant coach of that same team. It's redemption for him in every which way and I'm so happy for him. He also coached us, and we couldn't have had a better coach.

shakti asked, well m a fan of urs n tht nose ring is 2 kool
Anaitha answers, :) To be honest, according to international hockey rules, a player isn't allowed to wear any jewellery while playing, especially on the face. A nose ring is an absolute no-no...But I guess that's the celluloid freedom every filmmaker is allowed, right? :)

shakti asked, hey is it true tht ur from BANGALORE?????
Anaitha answers, Yes I am. I've done my schooling and college there and only moved to Mumbai after I completed college.

ranjit asked, hi anaitha ..... my name is ranjit nair.... you have made all the nairs proud... keep it up... we really liked you in the movie... so when can we expect to see you again on screen ?
Anaitha answers, Aha! Well let me wish you Happy Onam in that case, as yesterday was Onam. Belated wishes to you and every other Malayali. I'm actually half Malayali, (from my father, my mother is Parsi:) that's how I get the name Anaitha.

In the photograph: Sumeet Rajwade, rediff.com Director of Technology, presents a Rediff Shopping gift voucher to Anaitha. A small token of our gratitude for the inspiring performance from her and the other Chak De! ladies.
