Diya Mirza's Bollywood debut Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein did not do much for the former Miss Asia-Pacific (2000). Her last release, E Niwas' Dum, also failed at the turnstiles.

Diya will now feature in Mahesh Manjrekar's Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav, Khalid Mohamed's Tehzeeb, Govind Nihalani's yet-untitled venture and Amol Shirke's next project.

Praan Jaye… sees Shivaji Sattam's son Abhijeet debut opposite Diya. Both father and son star in this film.

Praan Jaye Par Shaan Na Jaye was previously titled Praan Jaye Par Chawl Na Jaye.
