Rate: PM Modi's 'poll'-itical Budget

So how do you rate the NDA government’s election-year budget? Does it meet your expectations? Or do you feel let down?

Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, in his maiden Interim Budget on Friday, has unveiled sops across the spectrum, firmly keeping in view the disaffected sections of society that seems to have voted against the Bharatiya Janata Party in the recent assembly elections. 

Thus the full tax rebate on income up to Rs 5 lakh, with proviso for further benefits for Rs 1.5 lakh more, a basic income scheme for poor farmers, and pension scheme for the unorganised sector. 

But are these mere optics, with little in the Budget to address the basic, systemic problems plaguing the economy and the population -- like unemployment, for one? Or lacklustre growth, for another?
