Even before formal inauguration of the world's tallest building, 'Burj Dubai, the city called the Jewel of the Emirates is all set to break its own record, by building a tower with a dizzying height of more than one kilometre.
The new tower with more than 200 floors, would be two to three times size of tallest skyscrapers now dotting skyline of major American cities like New York and Chicago.
It is coming up on the sea front in a 270 hectare area, will be the centrepiece of the sprawling waterfront projects in the city and be build in next ten years, announced the Dubai-based master developer, Nakheel.
"From our perspective, we're building a tower over one-kilometre high. It's the tallest by current comparisons," Nakheel chief executive Chris O'Donnell said while announcing the project.
