RBI appoints two new EDs

Reserve Bank of India regional director N H Siddiqui and chief general manager-in-charge A V Sardesai were on Thursday appointed as executive directors in the apex bank.

Siddiqui was the regional director at Bhubaneshwar while Sardesai was CGM in charge rural planning and credit department in Mumbai, RBI said in a release in Mumbai.

These appointments would fill the positions left vacant with the elevation of K J Udeshi as RBI deputy governor and resignation of senior-most executive director K L Khetarpaul.

RBI said Siddiqui has been appointed as executive director of deposit insurance and credit guarantee corporation.
