April 30, 2003 15:09 IST

Nasdaq-listed wireless and broadband equipment major UTStarcom has announced its agreement with Tata Teleservices for supplying 56,000 lines of AN-200 platform to the largest private basic service operator in India.

"TTSL would be deploying the AN-200 platform across its service area comprising six telecom circles. With the signing of this contract, UTStarcom has signed six of the eight basic service operators in the country," a company release said.

Over 600,000 lines of its AN-200 multi-service access platform had been already deployed across the country by the end of 2002, with clients including BSNL and MTNL, it said.
