HCL Tech bags $180 mn contract from BT

April 07, 2003 15:55 IST

HCL Technology Ltd has secured a contract worth $180 million for its business process outsourcing service operations from BT, a global telecommunications services provider.

HCL Technology informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday that it is the biggest engagement in the BPO space awarded to the company that encompasses a range of services and also leverages HCL Tech's proven experience and expertise in the area of software development.

HCL said that these services will be delivered from a Next Generation Contract Centre exclusively set up by HCL Tech for BT in Noida.

However, the centre will be managed by BT managers.

The 100 per cent compliant NGCC is amongst a select few in the world that adheres to stringent health, safety and environment norms laid out under United Kingdom laws as well as UN GS 18 standards, the company stated.
