MUL launches new Maruti 800 variant

Maruti Udyog Ltd, car market leader, on Friday launched a new variant of Maruti 800 with AC, setting a new benchmark for prices of air conditioned cars.

The new car will have all the features of a new Maruti 800 Standard (Bharat Stage I) and an AC and tinted glasses.

Priced at about Rs 215,000 (ex-showroom, Lucknow), The car will be costlier by Rs 22,000 than a non-AC Maruti 800. It will be available all over India, except metros. The ex-showroom price will be Rs 214,000 in Chandigarh, Rs 221,000 in Bangalore, Rs 214,000 in Jaipur and Rs 227,000 in Guwahati.

The new Maruti 800 AC is the latest initiative taken by the company on this popular car model. Recently the company reduced prices of Maruti 800 by Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000. It was followed with the launch a special limited edition.
