Microsoft keen to partner states on e-governance

Microsoft India is keen to partner the state governments to help in implementing e-governance initiatives, Microsoft India industry manager Shailendra Kumar said on Tuesday.

Speaking at an interactive session in Bangalore on 'e-governance case studies' organised in conjunction with Bangalore IT.COM, he said the implementation of the world's biggest e-governance initiative by the corporation for Britain could be replicated in India.

The pound one billion British project, which would be completed in 2005, was also attracting the attention of other European countries, which were keen on rolling out similar projects, he added.

He said Microsoft's NET initiative would provide platform-independent interactivity with citizens irrespective of the communication device.
