In the court of the fish eyed Goddess

When we visited the Madurai Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in July this year, renovation work was in progress. A huge board at the entrance had details about the repairs and restoration being done and how much it would cost.

The cheapest renovation work for a certain part of the temple was Rs 25,000. The most expensive, was valued at Rs 53 lakhs.
