Combining GPS and cameraphones

July 16, 2008

One of the great things about GPS phones is that you can combine GPS with the phone's other features like the camera. This is called geo-tagging which simply means that when you take a photo, your GPS-enabled phone can add a tag which specifies the exact location.

For any photo which is tagged in this way you can pinpoint the exact spot using an application like Google Earth.

This is great for holiday photos making it easy to search and view all your photos taken at a particular location.
