The magic of Jammu and Kashmir

In June we -- mom, dad, hubby and myself -- planned a trip to Jammu and Kashmir. After leafing through all kind of packages, we chose Indian Airlines. We flew from Delhi to Jammu, which we reached around 1:00 pm. From there, the airline had provided an air-conditioned cab to Katra.

Airfare for Rs 599 and less!

We were booked at a nice 3 star hotel with breakfast and dinner complementary.

In view of the elders' health, we took the helicopter ride to the Vaishno Devi shrine. Although we had pre-booked tickets through the agent, two and fro tickets are readily available at most Katra hotels.

We took a 7:00 am chopper ride. An autorickshaw from the hotel took us to the helipad in 15 minutes. We reached the Sanjhi Chat airport, Jammu in 7 minutes after tight security and weight checks at the helipad.
