Onion Pakoda

    ~Ingredients

    2 cups gram flour (besan)
    1 tbsp rice flour
    2 pinch baking soda
    Salt
    2 tsp butter
    1 onion
    1 green chilly
    1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
    1 tsp cumin or jeera seeds
    1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    1/4 tsp red chilly powder
    4 curry leaves (finely minced)
    A bunch of coriander leaves
    Water
    Oil

    ~Method

    Finely chop onions, green chilly and coriander.

    In a bowl, mix together gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, salt and cumin seeds.

    In another small bowl, take baking soda and butter. Mix it well to get a smooth texture. Add it to the flour mixture.

    Now add chopped onion, green chilly and coriander to the mixture. Add water to form a thick batter and mix well, removing lumps.

    Heat oil in frying pan. Add the batter, in small portions with the help of a spoon.

    Fry till golden brown.
