Travel more for less!

Feb 19, 2007
Looking for a break but don't want to bust the bank?

Relax. We've come up with nine ways to make your journey a pleasurable and low cost affair.

Research

Read up on your destination or talk to people who have been there for more information on cheap, clean places to stay and eat. Do ensure that these places are safe as well. Plan your itinerary in such a way so that you can visit places that are in proximity to each other.

Bipin Doshi, Senior Executive Producer with Sahara One says, "Knowing a local person in the place you are visiting helps."

"In case you don't know anyone, strike up a conversation with the hotel manager when booking, and he could fill you up with valuable tips on the place," Doshi adds.

A word of caution: Be careful not to act 'touristy' or else, everyone ranging from the cab drivers to the shop keepers will take you for a ride.
