Waqar calls it quits

Waqar's first five-wicket haul in Test cricket did not take a long time coming. The Burewalla Express, as he is known, rattled New Zealand with a burst of ten wickets in just his seventh Test match, which included 7 for 86 in the second innings. It earned Pakistan a nine-wicket victory.

He bettered that feat by claiming 12 wickets (7 for 76 and 5 for 54) in the next Test of the series.

What made the performance even better was the fact that Waqar, at just 18 years, spearheaded the bowling in the absence of Akram to lead Pakistan to a 65-run victory.
