Waqar calls it quits

Waqar Younis is regarded as one of Pakistan's greatest fast bowlers. He and Wasim Akram formed the most lethal bowling pair in world cricket. He made his debut as a 17-year-old and was 18 on the second day of his first Test.

He picked four wickets in the match and, in the process, became the first bowler to claim the prized scalp of Sachin Tendulkar.

The match ended in a draw, but Pakistan had found a young bowler who would start a revolution in the world of fast bowling.
