New Bombay software park ready to take off

The International Infotech Park at New Bombay is to be commissioned shortly.

The Park has been jointly promoted by City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited, Software Technology Parks of India and the Department of Electronics.

According to Vishwas S Dhumal, vice-chairman and managing director, CIDCO has completed the first phase and has already spent Rs 1 billion on the project.

For the second phase, the funds will be generated from the rentals and the facility would be built as and when the demand arises.

This technology park, spread over 80 hectares, has 600,000 square feet of built-up space attached to the New Bombay railway station.

CIDCO has also provided for an earth station in collaboration with STPI, the Department of Electronics and the Government of India apart from a 2000-line electronic exchange for telephones in the complex itself.

The master plan also includes facilities like residential complexes, schools, leisure and sports facilities and multiplex theatre complexes. He said the land would be priced at Rs 3,000 per square feet which is less expensive than other technology parks in the country.
