Aptech ties up with Sylvan Prometric

Aptech Limited has tied up with the US-based Sylvan Prometric for providing educational and testing services in information technology and computer-based skill proficiency testing services in India.

Sylvan Prometric is a division of Sylvan Learning Systems Inc.

Wayne G Benz, director, Asia- Pacific region, Sylvan Prometric, told reporters that his company plans to appoint the entire network of ASSET (Aptech School for Software Exports Training) centres as Authorised

Prometric Testing centres over the next few months.

Benz said Sylvan has about 700 outlets in the US and Canada and has commenced operations under a new division, Calibre, which would be launched in the rest of the world next year.

"India is an important market for us and the tie-up with Aptech brings in a great deal of potential to the students. We will be continuously adding new testing products and services to the relationship, including the Computer Career Profiler," Benz said.

Aptech has identified nine centres which will initially offer the tests in different part of the country and will then spread to over 100 locations by the end of 1998.
