Urdu news service on Internet launched
For the first time, news in Urdu will be available over the Internet.

The service is to be started by the Media Star-News Feature Agency of India, Mohammed Ahmed Kazmi, editor of the service said today.

He said it would enable a large Asian community in Western nations to get updated information on political and other developments in India in Urdu.

So far news has been provided to them on the Internet by Western agencies only, Kazmi pointed out.

He said that though scores of Urdu papers are published in Pakistan, there too no one has started providing news in Urdu over the Web.
