Department of Posts wins applause

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has referred to the multipurpose counter machines in post offices as an example of how computers can make improvements in employee productivity and public services.

This achievement of the DoP will be cited during the forthcoming conference of chief ministers, likely to be held sometime in July.

The DoP has also been given the International Award for Excellence for putting up the best communication pavilion at the Second International Exhibition-Infrastructure and Investment '99.

The event was held by the Wisitex Foundation in April last year in Delhi, an official statement said.
