Dragon does speech recognition for 'Indian English'HCL Infosystems Limited has launched the Indianised English version of the Dragon Naturally Speaking product family.
The first of its kind to be made available to Indian user, the software is specially engineered and designed to support the Indian English accent and vocabulary.
The new English Edition will be available across the entire range of Dragon products, marketed by HCL Insys in India.
K Shivakumar, principal operating officer, Frontline Division HCL Insys, says, "Greatly inspired by the government's support of mass computerisation in the country, we are proud to participate in the launch of this product. Dragon, Naturally Speaking Indian English Edition will enable easier PC usage, thereby propagating faster computer penetration in the country. It is bound to have a positive long-term effect on the PC revolution in India.
As Dragon's first specialised offering for the Indian market, the introduction of the Indian English Edition reaffirms the significance of the Indian speech recognition market and the growing maturity of the Indian user, Shivakumar claimed.
Meanwhile Andreas Widmer, director, international sales and marketing, Dragon Systems, said the Indian and Southeast Asian users represent very important markets for Dragon.
