E-commerce laws draft handed over to law ministry

The commerce ministry has formulated and sent a draft of the Electronic Commerce Act and Electronic Commerce Support Act to the law ministry for adoption.

This draft is being hosted on the site of the National Informatics Centre since yesterday.

The Electronic Commerce Act aims to facilitate the development of a secure regulatory environment for electronic commerce by providing a legal infrastructure governing electronic contracting, security and integrity of electronic transactions, the use of digital signature and other issues related to electronic commerce.
