Baan Info launches localised ERP module

Email this story to a friend. Baan Info Systems has launched "India Localisation'', a customised ERP module. The module addresses statutory Indian legislation in the areas of central excise, sales tax, octroi and income-tax that impact the operations of most local manufacturing firms.

Baan's ERP update
The module has been developed indigenously at Baan's development center at SEEPZ in Bombay. The company has claimed that it is the first local initiative by any global ERP vendor.

The tax laws addressed in the localised module will affect business functions in sales, purchase, accounts payable, accounts receivable, shop floor production etc.

The modifications are provided in the manufacturing, distribution and financial packages of Baan ERP.

The purchase cycle, sales, inventory transfer, replenishment transfer, location and lot control functions of the distribution package have been localised and integrated into Baan IV seamlessly.

The manufacturing localisation module is in shop floor control format. It integrates payment of duty while releasing material to the subcontractor, and taking credits on receipts with the statute law compliance of the Central Excise Act. This is expected to ensure continuity in the production process.

The localisation allows the company to know in advance the amount of tax to be deducted for any supplier and necessary action to be taken. This allows printing of certificates and annual returns of any contractors or suppliers and can be given to the IT Department in advance.
