Madras traffic police is on the Web

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi inaugurated the site, the first of its kind in the country.

Aimed at improving the interaction between the common public and the traffic police, the site covers the entire gamut of traffic policing to educate the public about traffic rules, accident-prone zones, traffic volumes and the number of vehicles on the streets, an official statement in Madras said.

The site [http://www.chennai-traffic-police.org] also provide a forum for the public to air grievances and send suggestion and get replies via email, release said.

Developed by the Millennium Software Technologies and Sameer Computeronics, the site would provide access to 90 million Internet users all over the world and 30,000 subscribers in the city. This would help the department to elicit new traffic ideas from all over the world through the online system, the statement claimed.
