HCL and Dastur, two other firms which had planned to get onto the bandwagon, finally didn't. HCL plans to make headway in Japan through its joint venture with CSK Corporation.

Jasdic's turnover is expected to cross $ 90 million in the first year, starting this July, and to cross $ 200 million by 2000 with a 10 per cent profit margin and 20 per cent dividends for shareholders.

The Japanese partners, including heavyweights NTT and Duskin, will provide marketing and sales inputs, and after sales service for software developed by them together with the Indian firms.
