technology and communication', IT.COM is planned to be held at International Tech Park in Bangalore. The Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited is sponsoring the event in collaboration with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Software Technology Parks of India, the Department of Electronics, Electronics City Industries Association and the Consortium of Electronic Industries of Karnataka.

Bangalore IT.COM has been conceived as a mega show that would bring together the world of information technology at a single location and major companies are expected to take part in the event.

It also plans to evolve a "vision strategy'' for the next millennium. The event is expected to provide participants with the opportunity to showcase their products and services and interact with potential business partners.

The show is being organised by the Wisitex Foundation that has over 25 years of experience in organising exhibitions and trade expositions along with its spin-off businesses, World Expo & Convention Management Limited.

State government and property developers Raheja Group, Brigade Group, Shyamaraju and Company and the Kirloskar Group have made an audio-visual presentation.

The International Technology Park, modelled on the Singapore Scientific Park, which consists of about 120,000 square metres of work space, is planned to be the venue of the IT event.

Karnataka Secretary of IT Sanjoy Das Gupta has said the focus of the show would be on two broad areas. One would showcase the competencies and products of IT companies, the other would be a technical seminar on the "global village'' that would prepare a "Bangalore declaration'' on the IT industry for the next century.

Alvin Toffler, John Naisbitt and Raj Reddy are expected to be among the prominent speakers at the meeting.
