NIIT beefs up Net business

NIIT has announced its plan to strengthen its Internet, Intranet and networking solutions business through a full fledged strategic unit, the Netcentric Solutions Business.

Dhruva Nath, vice president, NIIT said, the company "will leverage its vast experience in executing comprehensive solutions around the Internet and Internet technologies for clients like the prime minister's office in Singapore, the Singapore Sports Council, the NTT Corporation of Japan, the Bank Bali in Indonesia, the Siam Bank in Thailand, Kirloskar Brothers, Apollo Tyres,

He said Netcentric Solutions would focus on designing and creating the networking infrastructure that would support the Internet and Intranet, and develop related software that will also help in electronic commerce applications. NIIT would also train their client's personnel in the nuances of the new technology, Nath said.

Netcentric solutions call for diverse elements, information systems planning, networking, web-based software development, workflow technologies, user front-end design, and multimedia, all of which areas NIIT had experience in, Nath said. This, he said, would insure complete systems integration, unlike provided by other firms.
