Smart Chip begins operations

Smart cards are finally coming to India, courtesy Smart Chip Ltd, which announced the launch of its commercial operations.

Smart cards have programmable micro-chips for use based on the identity and mobility of the holder have all the utility of a credit card with far more uses. SCL hopes its products can span all business operations of a company.

SCL, based in Delhi, is part of the Goldrock-Syscom group promoted by the owner of the scooter major LML. SCL has a strategic deal with the German Orga, one of the world's biggest smart card integrators, to implement smart card systems in India.
