Gold at the Commonwealth Games

Shooting is an introspective sport. It demands patience, a cool head and the right balance. Junior world record holder and Olympian Abhinav Bindra had all that in plenty as he came away from the just-concluded Commonwealth Games in Manchester with a gold and silver medal.

The young Chandigarh-based shooter claimed India's first gold -- the men's 10 metre Air Rifle Pairs -- and then followed it up with an individual silver in the men's 10 metre Air Rifle Singles to lead India's right medal haul at the Games. Indeed, it was a great effort for the 19-year-old.

On returning from Manchester, Bindra immediately declared that his sights are now trained on the Asian Games in Busan next month.
