RIBs net $ 3 billion

State Bank of India's Resurgent India Bonds, the foreign currency deposit scheme, have collected $ 3.10 billion as on yesterday.

According to bank sources, the bank received a total 63,000 applications so far from the subscribers to the bonds which are dominated in three currencies -- US dollar, British pound and German mark.

The bank decided to close the subscription to the issue on August 24 instead of September 4 as was fixed earlier.
