Revised timings!

Central Railways has revised the timings of the Coimbatore-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express between Coimbatore and Kurla from July 1, 2000. However, no changes have been made on the return journey from Kurla to Coimbatore.

Train 1014 Up will depart Coimbatore, daily, at 0515 hours instead of 0430 hours and reach Kurla at 1240 hours instead on 1235 hours.

Train 1013 Dn departs Kurla, daily, at 2220 hours and reaches Coimbatore at 0720 hours.


Name change!

The names of the following trains will be changed with effect from July 1, 2000:

Train 1018 Dn and 1018 Up Bombay-Bangalore-Bombay tri weekly express via Miraj will be named the Chalukya Express.

Train 2155 Dn and 2156 Up Habibganj-Nizamuddin-Habibganj Superfast Express will be named the Shravati Express.


New timings!

Southern Railways has revised the Shalimar-Haldia Azad Express's timings from Shalimar to Haldia. However, no changes have been made on the return journey from Haldia to Shalimar.

Train 8019 Shalimar-Haldia Azad Express will now depart Shalimar at 0715 hours daily and arrive at Haldia at 0955 hours.

Train 8020 departs Haldia at 1810 hours daily and reaches Shalimar at 2115 hours.


Pune-Baramati Passenger on Central Railway, will now halt at the Kadethan railway station.

1625 Dn Pune-Baramati Passenger train will arrive at Kadethan1300 hours and depart at 1301 hours.


Rajdhani changes!

Consequently the timing of the following trains will also be revised:

  • The 2627 Karnataka Express will arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 1141 hours instead of 1126 hours and at New Delhi station at 1205 hours insted of 1150 hours.

  • The 2625 Kerala Express will arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 1519 hours instead of 1459 hours and at New Delhi station at 1545 hours instead of 1520 hours.

  • The 2617 Mangala Express will arrive at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 1600 hours instead of 1540 hours.

The Konkan Railway has rescheduled the days of operation of the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Trivandrum Rajdhani Express, effective from January 2.

  • The train will depart Nizamuddin at 1100 hours on Tuesdays and Sundays instead of Wednesdays and Thursdays.

  • On the return journey the train will depart Trivandrum at 1915 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays instead of Fridays and Saturdays.

Rescheduled!

The timings for the Dibrugarh-Guwahati-New Delhi, Rajdhani Express, have been revised with effect from September 8.

2423 Rajdhani Express will now depart Dibrugarh at 1530 hours instead of 1615 hours. The train will reach New Delhi at 1000 hours the next day.

2424 Rajdhani Express will depart New Delhi at 1700 hours. The train will reach Dibrugarh at 1050 the next day.

Express service

The Shatabdi Express and Rajdhani Express run between some of the most important Indian cities. These are some of India's fastest and most efficient and comfortable train services .

The superfast Shatabdi Express offers same day return service on some important routes. All the trains are fully air-conditioned with a capacity of 515 passengers, both in the chair car and executive class. The fare for each of these trains includes breakfast, snacks and vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian meals.

The superfast Rajdhani Express connects New Delhi with major cities in India. All trains are fully air-conditioned and the fare for each of these trains includes meals and snacks both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

Schedules and fares


Seven new trains from Southern Railways

Southern Railways has introduced seven new trains. These new trains will be operational by the end of the financial year.

Revised timings

The following schedule changes have been made:

  • The 9775 Bangalore City-Jaipur Express will now run on Thursdays. The additional service introduced on Saturdays is suspended.

  • 2643/2644 Ernakulam Nizamuddin Express will now run to and from Ernakulam. The extension of service to and from Trivandrum Central is suspended.

  • 6305/6306 Guruvayur-Nagercoil Junction Express will now run between Guruvayur and Nagercoil. The extension of service to and from Madurai is suspended.

  • The 6350 Parsuram Express will now run to and from Cannanore instead of Mangalore.

  • The Mangalore-Gorakhpur Slip coaches and Mangalore-Barauni Slip coaches will now be hauled by 6628 West Coast Express on the previous day up to Cannanore and attached to the 6350 Parsuram Express at Cannanore the following day.


Changes from South Eastern Railways

The South Eastern Railways has introduced two new trains:

Other changes introduced by South Eastern Railways:

  • The 2102/2101 Howrah-Kurla Super Deluxe Express will run thrice a week instead of once a week.

  • The 8563/8564 Vishakhapatnam-Bangalore City Express will run four days a week instead of twice a week.

  • The 8301/8302 Sambalpur-Hazarat Nizamuddin Hirakud Express will be extended to run between Bhubaneshwar and Hazrat Nizamuddin.

  • The 8451/8452 Bhubaneshwar-Rourkela Tapaswini Express will be extended to run between Puri and Rourkela.


Nothern Railways revises train timings

Northern Railways has revised the timings of the following trains:


Bombay-Manmad Panchvati Express and Manmad-Kurla Terminus Express on the Central Railway, will now halt at Kasara station.

1401 Dn Panchvati Express will stop at Kasara station at 2120 hours.
1402 Up Panchvati Express will stop at Kasara station at 0833 hours.
1403 Dn Manmad Express will stop at Kasara station at 1648 hours.
1404 Up Manmad Express will stop at Kasara station at 1108 hours.


The Shatabdi Express from Bombay to Pune now makes a stop at Lonavala.

The train departs from Victoria Terminus at 0640 hours and arrives in Dadar at 0653 hours. The train then makes a stop at Lonavala at 0907 hours and arrives in Pune at 1005 hours.

The train departs from Pune at 1735 hours and arrives in Lonavala at 1824 hours. The train then arrives in Dadar at 2040 hours and at Victoria Terminus at 2055 hours.

The Central Railways recently introduced new executive class bogies on the Shatabdi Express. Among the other improvements made are reclining seats in the air-conditioned coaches, executive class, chair car. The fares are inclusive of breakfast and tea.

The one way fare for an economy class seat is Rs 275 and for an executive class seat is Rs 535.
